It used to be there was one variety of blades that fit your car. You went into the local car dealer or a retail parts store, gave them your make and model and that was it. Today, however, there are a lot of after market wiper blades that are increasingly more popular. Sure there are the fancy looking ones for the kids out there that want to add that extra touch of personality to their car, but for most wiper blades are more about function than form. However, there are still many practical choices as well. Keep in mind that OEM blades are designed to original manufacturer specifications, while many after market blades will be far superior to OEM versions. The fact is, however, that they will likely cost more as well. Whether or not they will be worth that extra cost is hard to judge until you’ve used them, so you will likely have to rely on third party information when making a selection.
