There are many benefits of j1 hiring. But there may be some negative aspects as well. First of all, when you hire J1 students, you may deny a place of work to a local college kid. Secondly, this may seem a little bit unpatriotic. But even more importantly, your results from J1 labor may vary. You may get lucky and every student will be a decent hard-working person with superb English and other skills. Or you may get a punk who is only dreaming how to steal something from you, who do not speak any English, but who creates all sorts of problems. Of course you may fire this guy, but that may not be the end of the story. Also, some J1s can abuse your kind offer of employment just to get in the United States. Or they can work fine, but simply leave in the middle of your busy season.

Our Son has just managed to get a place in coventry university to do his degree in English. He has worked so hard and the cost of his fees are quite high so learning to drive was just not possible at this stage so I decided to try to help him to keep the cost down where possible. I applied for a few jobs in coventry university so that I could take him there and save on his fares whilst I was earning a wage at the same time to help out. I managed to get a job full-time in the university canteen where I would be able to also bring him home. The money we would save instead of me providing train fares or bus fares would not be near what we thought as I would be more or less getting paid for making the journey each day! My Son was so happy and he said he wanted to thank me for arranging this to help him out. He really appreciated what I had done
