23rd Annual Tracy Dry Bean Festival!

Last Saturday we went to the Tracy Bean Festival!

23rd Annual Tracy Dry Bean Festival

Beans! Beans! Beans everywhere!

23rd Annual Tracy Dry Bean Festival

Over 30,000 people flocked to this weekend festivity and ate all sorts of bean foods: chili, salads, pies (!!), and.... Wait for it...

BEAN ICE CREAM! The organizers purchased some of our ice cream to sell at the fair.
People would give the 'bean ice cream? You're kidding, right?' look or something akin to 'ewwwww' before trying it, but after one bite, they were hooked. Most people thought of it like garlic ice cream at the Garlic Festival, but some couldn't get enough of it and asked where they can buy this new found treat.
I can't blame them - I usually dislike red bean and mung bean sweets, but our red bean ice cream is pretty delectable.

Other than beans, they also have international foods, rides (A RODEO BULL!!! How cool is that?), games, and live bands. A good chunk of downtown Tracy is shut down solely for this festival, and it's great - nice old town feel to the whole thing, and everyone's just there to have fun. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Thanks city of Tracy and the Dry Bean Co-Op!!! We would love to go again next year.
